The Toyota Mirai enters the 2025 model year with the same great cutting-edge efficiency and innovation that uses hydrogen from onboard tanks and oxygen from the outside air to generate power for the vehicle. The Mirai is the perfect companion to help reduce carbon emissions without compromising convenience, with an EPA estimated driving range rating of 402 miles. In 2025, the Toyota Mirai is going to be available only in the XLE grade, and it’s packed with some awesome standard features. You’ll get a Panoramic View Monitor, Front and Rear Parking Assist with Automatic Braking, and even front-seat foot illumination. Plus, there’s Digital Key capability* and dual-tone heated outside mirrors. Pretty sweet, right? Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is sticking around as a standard feature on the 2025 Toyota Mirai. This tech suite is all about giving drivers a helping hand, packed with features to keep you alert and focused on the road ahead. Innovation: Electricity Generated With Hydrogen It makes its own electricity right on board using hydrogen, and guess what? The only thing coming out of the tailpipe is water. The fuel cell system mixes stored hydrogen with oxygen from the air, and through a chemical reaction, it creates electric power and water. The water just drips out from a vent pipe under the car. Instead of spending hours charging a big battery pack like you would with a battery-electric vehicle, the Mirai’s driver just fills up the car’s tanks with hydrogen. In an FCEV, you’re using non-toxic, compressed hydrogen gas instead of liquid gasoline. So, with an FCEV, you’re swapping out that liquid gasoline for some non-toxic, compressed hydrogen gas. The Mirai’s got this cool setup where electricity from its fuel cell and the regenerative braking system gets stashed in a lithium-ion battery. When you hit the accelerator, bam! You get an instant zap of electric power from the fuel cell battery straight to the rear-mounted AC synchronous electric motor, which then powers the rear wheels. There’s also an electric air compressor that pumps up the intake air, and a water-cooled intercooler that chills the compressed air before it hits the fuel cell stack. Plus, there’s a water-cooled oil cooler hooked up with the air compressor to keep things running super efficiently. The intake system’s got your back when it comes to cutting down on noise, so you won’t even notice it while you’re inside. It’s a must to purify the air that goes into the fuel cell, though. That’s where the electrostatic air cleaner comes in, snagging those super tiny particles (like Particulate Matter 2.5). Plus, there’s a charcoal filter that takes care of any chemical stuff floating around. A Driver's Dream The Mirai’s got its foundation on the high-end Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) GA-L platform, turning it into a sleek mid-size luxury-sport sedan. Thanks to the RWD setup, you get a thrilling drive, plus it cleverly makes room for the two hydrogen fuel tanks tucked under the back seats. The Mirai rides on the super-strong GA-L platform with fancy multilink suspension, which means it handles like a dream and gives you a ride that’s both smooth and whisper-quiet. They’ve used laser screw welding and adhesive structure bonding—techniques that have already proven their worth on other Toyota and Lexus models—to make sure the Mirai feels top-notch when you’re cruising down the road. Active Cornering Assist kicks in with the stability control to help cut down on understeer when you’re taking those sharp turns. And with the standard Hill Start Assist Control, you can count on smooth takeoffs even when you’re stopped on a hill. Bolder Design The Mirai’s got this sleek, low, and wide vibe going on that makes it look super futuristic and classy. Its bold design screams movement with that long hood, smooth roofline, and short rear end. Plus, it’s rocking 19-inch aluminum wheels and 235/55r19 all-season tires, which totally amps up its modern style. The Mirai’s got these cool auto-levelling bi-beam LED headlights, plus multi-LED turn signals at the front and back. It’s also rocking Daytime Running Lights and clearance lights. And check this out—the LED side marker lamps even have the Mirai logo etched on them. There’s this sleek LED taillight panel that stretches across the whole back of the car, narrowing in the middle. It gives off a super cool nighttime look with these three unique gradation lines. Plus, the colour-matched heated side mirrors are pretty awesome too—they fold in with the push of a button and come with turn signal indicators, defrosters, blind spot warnings, and even puddle lights. Inside the cabin, the Mirai comes with SofTex®-trimmed heated front seats that are power-adjustable—8 ways for the driver and 4 ways for the passenger. Plus, it’s got dual-zone automatic climate control, so both the driver and front passenger can set their own temps and stay comfy on the journey ahead. The 2025 Mirai is available in six exterior colours: Black, Oxygen White, Supersonic Red, Heavy Metal, Hydro Blue and Elemental Silver Metallic. Behind the steering wheel is a 12.3-inch gauge cluster, which includes an ECO drive indicator to help the driver maximize fuel efficiency by providing acceleration guidance and assigning a score on economical driving. Hydrogen fuel level and remaining estimated range are always shown. Powering devices also comes easy with a Qi-compatible wireless charging tray, one USB Media port, 3 USB Type C Charging ports, and a 12V DC Socket in the center console. The Toyota Audio Multimedia system offers a wide range of connectivity and convenience features, including Over-the-Air (OTA) updates. Users can interact with the system through touch and voice activation. With Intelligent Assistant available through an active Drive Connect* trial or subscription, simple phrases like “Hey Toyota” awakens the system for voice-activated commands to search for directions, find Points of Interest (POI), adjust audio controls, change the cabin temperatures and more. Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control: Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) is an adaptive cruise control system that is designed to be set at speeds above 20 mph. DRCC uses vehicle-to-vehicle distance control to help maintain a preset distance from the vehicle ahead of you. Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist: Departure Alert with Steering Assist (LDA w/SA) detects lane markings or the road’s edge at speeds above 30 mph. LDA w/SA is designed to provide an audible/visual warning if an inadvertent lane departure is detected.
